What to do in Cartagena in 3 days
An easy plan to enjoy the city without rushing: city walls, Getsemaní, islands and great food.

Cartagena is best enjoyed slowly. This three-day plan mixes history, sea and food, leaving afternoons free for the heat and a siesta.
Day 1: the Walled City
Start early at the Clock Tower and walk to Santo Domingo Square and Calle de las Damas. At sunset, climb the city walls to watch the sun drop into the sea.
If you'd rather go with a guide, we arrange the Walled City tour.
Day 2: islands and beach
The Rosario Islands are an hour away by boat. Bring reef-safe sunscreen and cash for lunch.
Leave before 8:00 to avoid the afternoon swell.
Book snorkeling in advance.
Be back in time for a massage at Casa Da2 Spa.
Day 3: Getsemaní and food
Getsemaní is the neighborhood of murals and music at Trinidad Square. End the trip with dinner at Fogón de Mar.
